By making your home more energy efficient, you’re saving money and playing a vital role in reducing carbon emissions.

Oxfordshire County Council, has secured funding for the Warm Home: Local Grant programme.

Funded by the Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), this grant offers eligible homes free energy efficiency improvements and low-carbon heating—including solar panels, insulation, and heat pumps.

Warmify is working alongside Oxfordshire County Council to deliver these upgrades to homes in and around Oxford, helping low-income households reduce their energy bills and improve home comfort.

Who is eligible for free home energy upgrades?

You may be eligible for energy efficiency upgrades in your home through the Warm Home: Local Grant, if you meet these criteria:

  • You live in the Oxford County Council consortium
  • Your home has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F, or G (we can provide one for free if needed)
  • You’re a homeowner or private tenant

And your household meets one of the following:

  • You live in an automatically qualifying postcode
  • Someone in your home receives a means-tested benefit
  • Your total household income is under £36,000 (before tax)
  • Your income after housing costs (e.g. rent or mortgage) is under £20,000 (with flexibility based on household size)

As a private landlord, you can apply for the Warm Home: Local Grant for your properties in Oxford. You'll need to meet the following:

  • One property can receive full funding. For additional properties, you’ll contribute 50% of the cost
  • Each property must have an EPC rating of D to G
  • Tenants must meet income criteria or be receiving a qualifying benefit
  • Total grant support across all your properties is capped at £315,000
  • You must not increase rent due to improvements made under this scheme

If you qualify and your home passes a survey, you could receive one or more of the following:

  • Solid Wall Insulation (internal or external)
  • Room-In-Roof Insulation
  • Cavity Wall Insulation
  • Loft Insulation
  • Air Source Heat Pump
  • High Heat Retention Storage Heaters
  • Solar PV Panels
  • Heating Controls

Upgrades will be recommended based on what suits your home best and what’s feasible with available funding.

 Yes—if you meet the criteria, you can still apply, even if you’ve received support through other schemes like the Home Upgrade Grant.

No—if you’re a resident and qualify, the grant covers 100% of the costs. If you're a landlord, full funding is available for one property. Additional properties require a 50% contribution.

A final inspection checks everything has been done properly. You’ll also receive documentation and an updated EPC. We'll follow up to ensure you’re happy.
